Staying safe

Look after your ears

Keep headphone volume at a level where you can still hear someone talking next to you.

Take a break every hour. If your ears ring or feel funny, turn it down and rest.

The app starts quieter on purpose (70% volume).

Flashing lights

Some parts of the app glow or pulse. They never flash more than 3 times a second.

If flashing lights bother you, open Sound & controller and turn on Reduce flashing effects. It's already on if your device is set to reduce motion.

If you feel dizzy or unwell, stop and tell a grown-up.

Grown-ups' version

Safe listening: follow WHO guidance on safe listening — lower volumes, shorter sessions, regular breaks. Master output starts at 70% by default.

Photosensitivity: all animations are limited to at most 3 flashes per second, in line with WCAG 2.3.1. A small number of people have photosensitive epilepsy. If your child has a history of seizures, talk to a doctor first and turn on "Reduce flashing effects", which disables pulsing and glow animations.

The app has no chat, comments, sharing, uploading or contact with other users.
